Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 2026 | Last Updated: September 19, 2026

Our Core Privacy Guarantee: Zero Cloud UploadsGerberPatch operates on an architectural principle of absolute client-side execution. Your PCB Gerber files (.GTL, .GBL, .DRL, etc.) are processed 100% within your local web browser engine. We never transmit, upload, or store your circuit board files or engineering designs on any remote server.

1. 100% Client-Side Processing Architecture

When you drag, drop, or select Gerber files in GerberPatch, all coordinate conversion, aperture rendering, layer composition, and non-destructive patching occur exclusively inside your device's local browser memory (JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas APIs).

Because no file contents are ever dispatched over HTTP/HTTPS to backend servers, your proprietary intellectual property, schematic pinouts, and trade secrets remain strictly within your physical possession.

2. Local Browser Storage (IndexedDB)

To offer offline session recovery and prevent accidental data loss from browser tab closures, GerberPatch saves your active workspace state (layer configurations, user-added patches, and display themes) into your local browser's private IndexedDB database.

This IndexedDB storage is sandboxed by your browser's Same-Origin Policy and resides strictly on your local disk. You may permanently clear this data at any moment by using the "New Project (Clear Session)" button inside the editor or by clearing your browser cache.

3. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Cookies

GerberPatch is a free service supported in part by Google AdSense advertising. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve advertisements based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites across the Internet.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's My Ad Center or via the AboutAds choices opt-out portal.
  • Third-party ad networks may also place and read cookies on your browser or use web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving on this website.

4. Web Analytics & Aggregated Performance Data

We utilize Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) to collect anonymized statistical data regarding site performance, browser types, country of access, and page navigation patterns. This aggregated analytics data contains no personally identifiable information (PII) and absolutely zero information concerning your Gerber files or circuit designs.

5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users have rights concerning their personal data:

  • Right to Know & Access: You have the right to know what personal data is collected. Because we do not store accounts, emails, or PCB files on any server, no personal engineering data exists on our infrastructure.
  • Right to Deletion: All workspace data exists solely within your client browser. You can erase all data immediately via the editor reset button or browser data settings.
  • Do Not Sell My Personal Information: GerberPatch does not sell, rent, or trade any personal data or circuit designs to any third party.

6. Changes to this Policy & Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect functional improvements or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
